Appetite for Saving Animals
Three weeks prior to the Tail Waggers Strut, on April 21, several area restaurants hosted "Appetite for Saving Animals", a dinner hour fundraiser. Our pre-event fundraiser was a great success! Fourteen area restaurants participated, and are donating a portion of their April 21 dinner revenue to The Crossings Animal Sanctuary. The proceeds will primarily be used to acquire land, build, and operate Bucks County’s first no-kill animal sanctuary. The funds will also be used to provide veterinary care for Crossing Paths, a dog rescue located in Alabama. Over 120,000 homeless dogs, many of them adoptable, are killed in Alabama shelters every year.
The day began with breakfast at the Langhorne Coffee House. "Appetite for Saving Animals" captain Donna Amice held court at a sidewalk table, where she was joined by CAS volunteers, President Yvonne Neiman and her rescue dog, Lucky Duck, and other hungry patrons.
